Check the pulley grooves carefully. I have had chunks of belts "bury"
themselves deep in the grooves and throw belts off.
If you have a noisy or "bouncing" belt, hold a wax candle against the
belt "shoulder" on both sides of the belt. It will let the belt "nest"
in the pulley.

Reasons for belt popping off. Oily belt, worn belt, bad water pump....etc. I guess I should start with the belt. A new belt. Funny thing is I had a loose belt for months. Would chirp a bit at start then be OK. I finally tightened just a bit. No chirp. Been good for many months. Maybe I over tighten and ruin belt. Anyway a new belt is in the cards. Pulleys look good and seem to be in alignment. Why the face.(Phil Dunphey) Lawrence Rhodes
