Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Minor Miscellaneous Tasks

Well, don't send them to the crusher yet. Someone out there will want them. I'll try and convince my kids that this would be good for them - but, you know how kids are.

Maybe take the door panel off and replace the map case (repaired with Goop) with a pristine one found at a PAP. See if I can shave a little rubber from the recently replaced door seal which now requires some muscle to close.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] A Mercedes beef.

Do what I did - cut 1/3 off a couple of quarters or loonies (or washers if you are cheap) and hot glue two of them to your t-bone key. Works great. I may use Susan B. Anthonies or Sacawegas next time.

So at the end of October 2011, we bought three new keys for the car. The Mercedes dealer in Spokane was great - no problems there, they sent for the keys and got them on time so we could pick them up en route to Mexico.
The damn keys have lovely soft plastic finger grips, the damn things come off. On two of the three keys, we are now left with this little T shaped bit on the end of the key, quite awkward to use, and a real let down on Mercedes quality.
Tony.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Minor Miscellaneous Tasks

Go Brian!

Your lists help us all remember what projects we need to do.

I have a minor oil leak, which I thought was just the low pressure power
steering hose, yet there's still a drip here and there, after I replaced
it (I'm glad MB Classic center is just down the road). I replaced the
usual things already, in the last few years, like the oil cooler lines
and the turbo return seals. I guess I have to clean the engine and
figure out where it's coming from. It's only small drips, so I'm not to
the point of needing any cat litter, so I could wait a bit. :)

What I need to do is get a new battery for my moto.
