[diesel_mercedes] Ride For Life

This .

Because of my infirmities I don't ride as much as I'd like or used to but I do keep an old Honda T90k2 with a matching yellow milk crate on the rear rack for just this purpose, errands and to clear my head and make me smile, it's difficult to be anything but happy when Tiddling .

I need to replace the narrow European handlebars on the BMW as they cause me serious neck and shoulder / upper arm pain, I found a nice original pair of U.S.A. Magura bars and had them re chromed, co$t less than buying a new par from Magura .

As it turns out, riding Tiddlers in the snow is not only great fun, it rapidly teaches one to be a far better rider .

All the more reason to ride!

"...don't have time to ride."?  How is that possible?  You have time to drive, right?  Why not ride, instead?

I guess maybe I have different view on riding, maybe transporting myself, in general, than most.  I don't ride simply because I like to (which I do); I ride to get from one place to another.  6 miles to get to work, I ride.  25 miles to my shop where all my projects are:  I ride.  Gotta get some nails or screws or grass seed from Lowes?  Hop on the bike and ride.  As long as I can get whatever I need to pickup/drop off/carry in my saddlebags, strap onto the seat or tank, or stuff under my coat, I ride.  For me, riding is not recreational; it's transportational.

[diesel_mercedes] Fungus Amongus '84 300CD Slushbox

So ;

The car is running well but I noticed some light black silty crud in the added on cigar hose filter, then the low fuel lamp came on @ 387 miles, a bit too soon IMO so I removed the fuel sender and opened it up, sure enough there was some fungus crud inside it, I was across town and I didn't have my delicate acid brushes so I carefully used a rag and some aerosol Ether (starting fluid) to clean it the best I could, the Ether ran out of course, then I re assembled the sender and put it in a glass vase filled with Biobor and went off to run errands with SWMBO in my 300TD, came home hours later and carefully drained the sender and re installed it, took off to do some errands and gt stuck in rush hour traffic, after a few miles of very slow driving the low fuel lamp went out and has not come back on ~ I'm now @ 460 miles, as long as the low fuel lamp is still working I think I'm O.K. .

The gauge currently reads 'R' .
