I bought it around 3 years ago and I don't have the money to  work on it. It needs a full restore. Starts but runs rough...I don't know if I did it right (If everything was tight enough or what) but I checked the compression on the first and second glow plug holes. The first one came to 100 and the second stayed on 0. So I'm not sure if i did it wrong or if it is bad. I think I am in over my head. Windshield is cracked but all other glass is good. Body has typical 190 rust on drivers floor board and  behind the front wheel wells. Terrible black paint job. Chrome is decent, rims, three are great and one is a little dinged. Fuel pump is working. Glow plugs are working. Starter is working. Interior is hard and cracked. It makes me sad to sell it. It is in NE Missouri (KCMO). Looking for offers...If anyone knows anyone. (I don't want to get it scrapped)

Squarelines are tough for getting parts.  Not collectable enough for anyone to do re-issues, too old for the dealer to carry much, and getting real scarce in the yards.  Maybe call Miller's and see what they suggest:

As I remember they are basically flat panels with rubber seals on the outside edge.  You should be able to find someone to make them if you can't do it yourself.  The seals can be any flexible rubber or plastic that can slip over or fasten to the panel.

I'm hoping the collective wisdom of this group can guide me on how to find fender liner (panels) for my 115 Series 240D. These are the vertical pieces of metal that live immediately behind the front tires inside the fenders & protect from all the debris kicked up from the tires.

I just replaced the front fenders due to rusting out because the internal shields were in bad shape & want to ensure I address the cause to avoid another costly repair down the road.

[diesel_mercedes] 300D will not turn off with key

 

My 1982 300D runs rough at idle and does not turn off by turning the key.  When the key is in the off position, the engine runs smoothly.  Please prioritize  ideas on checking the vacuum system.

[diesel_mercedes] New belts

 

Changed the belts today, after noticing one of the Alt belts had gone
missing, which explained the weird thump sound about a month ago. The AC
belt was a bit of a pain, and I had to look online to find the adjuster,
yet over all not too bad. Hopefully, these last as long as the previous
ones, about a 100K.
