I had new Michelins put on last week at Costco, and today dropped the
car off to get an alignment. A bit later, got a call back regarding worn
control arm bushings and idler arm bushings, which I didn't really want
to spend the money on, yet I bit the bullet and had them replaced.
Driving home I noticed quite a difference, the car handles extremely
well now. Maybe after the rain stops, I'll drive up in the hills.

Looks very nice BUT ! Florida cars tend to be rusty....

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Southern California Group Meetings
Sounds great, I guess I was hoping there was some more formal group gatherings with the diesel crowd. I would love to meet some Benz fans around SoCal, if anyone is interested perhaps we can set up a gathering at an In n Out or coffee place next week. Anyone interested initially?

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Is this the fuel tank drain?
I don't think that's the drain but if I were going to the trouble of draining the tank I think I would put a new fuel screen filter in at the same time, assuming that hasn't been done in a while.

That's because they had it waxed with cocaine. Drug dust is everywhere in Florida. You really have to watch out when you use a payphone. Max

[diesel_mercedes] Is this the fuel tank drain?
Hello All
I need to drain the fuel from my wife's 1986 300SDL.
I think I found the fuel tank drain. There is a photo of what I found in the album "Rodger's Questions"
Can anyone tell me if it is the drain or not?
And how to open it without breaking anything?
Thank you
Rodger

[diesel_mercedes] Re: 300TD 1980 Wagon. Only high defrost
Well I checked the big sensor near the air intake. One vacuum hose was
disconnected. Also one of the big I think water hoses (the passenger side rear
one) was hanging in the breeze. You would think that would cause trouble but
it's dry. I'd like to know if that is what the sensor is sensing. The hot
water. Also when I press high defrost a relay clicks in the front of the car
which is probably the sensor. Haven't driven it yet. Find out if reconnecting
the vac hose line makes a difference. Lawrence Rhodes......
[diesel_mercedes] Anyone know where these go?
The dish-shaped conical brass washers go somewhere in the A/C system but I don't know where. Part number 0008350598
I just want to make sure I'm not leaving something out somewhere.
