That's what I'm using in my '07 Dodge Ram Diesel.  It's the factory recommended oil, and the truck seems to run very smoothly on it.  As soon as I do my next and last oil change of old Mobil 1 15W50 I have on hand, I'm switching the 240D an any future Diesels to it.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Oil choices

Rotella T is pretty good oil, been using it my various equipment for years.  Mercedes recommends Mobil One, which I ran in my 300SD for a long time, until I switched to Rotella T6 synthetic.

If you run plain ol' Rotella T and change it out every 3-5k miles, I doubt you will ever be able to tell the difference, and it sells in bulk at Walmart at reasonable prices..

I use Rotella also.
I use the non synth 15W-40 in the very late spring, summer, very early fall.
I switch to the Rotella 5W-40 Synth for the rest of the year as it gets pretty cold in NH in the winter.
