Whew ! it sure is .
THANK YOU Bill ! . I read _all_ of the previous links (whew) and none seemed to deal with my problem .
I'm betting it's the gold plated contacts in the float as I've had to clean off some mighty nasty crud....
Maybe my next step is to make up a rheostat and plug to dynamically test the gauge head and attendant wiring .

My issue is : the gauge never drops below 1/4 tank .
The low fuel lamp works fine and I got over 50 miles out of it once.....
