Yes, that often helps when the original gasket is dying, my comments here are for an entirely different problem, one caused by aging of an internal gasket that you cannot see unless you destroy the cab by opening it .
I inverted my weepy cap and filled it with purple power cleaner, as it was filling I could see oil black oil residue coming out those tiny holes.....
Now I need to figure out what kind of liquid sealant I car get to fill the cavity with, allow to cure, that will withstand Diesel fuel and engine oil .
