[diesel_mercedes] Re : A/C blower problem cured?

So ;

Now , if you run it on the non AC button and the center fan (automatic) buttom pressed , does the fan cycle up and down in speeds ? .

Do any of the replays on the controller , smell hot or burnt ?

The problem with adding freon instead of evacuating and testing the system is : it allows moisture to get in and contiue to corrode the delicate aluminum parts from the inside out , resulting in tiny microscopic pin holes that are maddening (at best) to find .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] A/C blower problem cured?

The used A/C controller seems fine, with no issues with the blower.

That said, I just returned from a 1000mile trip up north to Yosemite/ Sacramento/ and back to SoCal, and think my A/C issues are starting to look like LA Nate and fungus, on-going... No A/C for the trip up, as all the gas disappeared over night before, so my driving companions weren't too happy about the heat. For the return, after driving an hour south, I added a can of r134, and drove the other 6 hrs w/ cold air. I think the A/C stop leak I put in 2 yrs ago might have temporarily plugged up the leak. Today, the car is in the shop to find the leak, yet again.

Someone asked, so I added a pic of the other side of the A/C controller to the photo album:

There were more issues w/ the A/C controller, in the form of intermittent air blowing, so I swapped out with one from the PAP, which seems to work fine now. If more issues arise, I might splurge on the new one from the MB Classic Center. I haven't got to the MB turbo yet, as I've been working on my Wife's 240DL Volvo, which now has new suspension all around W/ springs, Bil HDs, alloys, etc. Very nice. RE: [diesel_mercedes] Re: CV Joint Boots

From the internet we hear…

“In Britain the condom was viewed as a dirty Continental fetish (1800’s), something for harlots or sailors. They remained curious about them, however, and young men taking the Grand Tour (through Europe via France, Italy and Greece to Constantinople and beyond) would, if sending a message home with a returning tourist, enclose a condom... thus a French letter.

The French practice of calling them English Coats derives simply from the eternal enmity of these two countries; ever keen to credit each other with things regarded as unpleasant. Ascribing "bad" habits and plagues to your nearest neighbours has always been common in Europe; during the 1917-1920 influenza pandemic the disease was called Spanish Flu in southern France, German Fever in Belgium, Greek Flu in Turkey and Arabian Flu in Greece.”

If Nate tells me there are interesting diesel w123's in the San Fernando Valley, then maybe a spin out that way.

[diesel_mercedes] Re : Fuel Crud

That's not half as bad as the fungussy glop that was in my Coupe and other Mercedes Diesels .

I think he should make a nice video about how to remove your fuel tank
, he asks folks to do so but the comments are disabled .
