Well, the sound was definitely coming from where the track rod connects
to the lower control arm. Of course, the car doesn't make the noise
anymore... I checked and the bolt isn't loose or anything, so I guess
I'll just see if it comes back...

[diesel_mercedes] stuck antenna
Hey is there any chance that the stuck antenna is stopping the radio from working, I have another antenna is it worth swapping. How do you get the boot (trunk to you yanks) liner out of the way without damaging it?

Nate,
You know, sometimes I just hate to read your post. Most of what you write about makes it all seem so easy and simple. But not for me. I frequently take months in search of a leak and when I take things off of my doors or trunk I almost never get them back together without breaking something else.
So I end up feeling stupid and clueless trying to leap off tall buildings in a single bound, leaps that you make every day with ease.
I am glad you have the feelings of accomplishment almost every day. But me....if I can get tree sap off my hood I've had a good turn of events.
Please post some of your failures, it might bring me hope.

[diesel_mercedes] Odds n Ends
1. Wandered the Monrovia PAP today. Nothing exciting except walking by the Port a Potties twice while they were unloading them (gag).
2. Dawned on me (a special revelation) as I watched Kent B's video of bad axles that my Very Loud "whang, bang, clang" noise heard only after going up 6% grades for long period of time is probably bad CV joints with play in the joint. Because it never happens on flat land, I tend to forget about it once I am home. I am going to put new half shaft axles on any way, so will look at the old ones and see if their is some damage that could lead to such a thing.

The Internet is a wonderful thing. The old radio is out.
