[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Economy Check '84 300CD Slushbox [2 Attachments]

Low fuel lamp on @ 374 miles, 464 miles total, it began to suck air and miss badly in my driveway so I replaced the added on return hose filer (pic. 1) then added my two gallons of reserve fuel and drove it down for a fillup of Dino Diesel .

23.2 MPG, not as good as I'd hoped but the boost is low @ 7.5 ~ 8 # I hope I'll get better economy once I adjust that up a bit .

I also did a hot oil and filter change and discovered the oil pan pixies are trying to sneak back (Pic. 2) .

I cleaned up under the hood using the Sam's Club commercial de greaser and it looks nice again .

Remember the wastegate exhaust vent I showed in my other thread ? I discovered when you're blowing a lot if boost it covers the entire right side of the engine and firewall in diesel smoot, right up to and covering, the monovalve .
