Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Performance Products Catalogues

But Chip, the catalog is 200 pages of 15 or so models covering 30-35 years of vehicle production - that is why everyone should get their own catalog, or learn to navigate PP's website.

Why? Because the PP catalog has schematics for every model and every system which makes it simple to locate "your" part, identify the part with a name, see how the part relates to other parts, and get a high end price idea. I have even scanned the pertinent (to me) w123 pages onto my hard drive so I can enlarge the parts _ I even think I will transfer that info to a flash drive so I can carry it with me.

And the best part is that we have been able to have this exchange flying totally under the radar from "our girls" on this board.

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Re : Hard starting 83 240D

Maybe it is too much crud surrounding the glow plugs, you might need to ream out the chamber around them with a wire brush. Or maybe it's a slow leak in the fuel line, allowing some air in when the car sits, not connected with glow plug heat at all. Look at the little clear fuel filter and see if the air bubble grows when it sits overnight. Or better yet, pump the hand fuel pump 20 times before you try to start it to see if that solves the problem.
