Re: [diesel_mercedes] drain valve

Actually being a Geezer, I use a vacuum pump to avoid bending down.

Anyone use a Fumoto type oil drain valve on their car? The one that has a 1/4 twist to drain. I have something similar on my diesel generator and it is very slick indeed. I got a new car and on the first oil change it was a disaster. The oil overshot the pan, not enough room, ect., ect, blah, blah. As I was laying under there with oil running down my arm I thought about a 1/4 twist drain valve. I've read some are defective and leak but the idea sounds great. Put a tube on the end, open, no mess.. Just wondering. Also, are there any Kubota mechanics out there experienced with small 3 cylinder  engines. Max

Proper flush - Are you going to use MB citric acid powder? If so, a how-to would be good. Thermostats are usually reliable. Surprisingly so consider that they are pretty crude and work all the time. Might have some flakes jamming up the spring or stuck under the seal. I guess using a new pukka MB one is best.
