Not ALL of them are quacks. The one I went to when my '95 Tbird got crashed when someone ran a red light was a jerk. Ran the bill up to $5,000 and hadn't even started to help me yet! I walked out on them. Then I had a great one that saved me after my '97 T-Bird had a target only idiots could see saying "HIT ME". Odd, no more wrecks after the '97 got totaled when someone else ran a red light!
When Kevin fell off a tank in the Army in Germany he couldn't even stand up straight. Army only got him hooked on drugs. He finally broke that habit himself and found a civilian Chiropractor that fixed him, he was able to walk up straight for the first time in ages after just one visit.
Just like with anything, some are bad, some are helpful.

I have decided that it is time to get Nate to the Chiropractor. After reading several of Nate's recent post, it is obvious that his back is aggravating the hell out of him. You can almost feel the pain and aggravation in every post, which is entirely un-Nate like.

Nate,
Since 1960(?) Fords have had washers built into the nuts and bolt heads (They are not loose but are part of the nut or bolt head.).
I think the first one's were fractional sizes like 3/8". I think the later ones are metric.
Those bolts and nuts may be useful also.

What these are is :
Hardware with slight differences like screws , nuts and bolts with washers made as part of the fastener , mostly found on Japanese vehicles but here & there on newer Mercedes Products too .
They're real life savers when you're working with a wallowed out hole or damaged sheet metal .
Over size flat washers too come in mighty handy .
Primarily in 6 & 8 MM , they're usually scattered all over the ground in all junkyards , as they sweep them up and discard , I just pocket them , getting my $2.00 entry fee .
If you pay attention , there are all manner of problem solvers, sheet metal screws with loose washers and semi - self tapping machine screws etc. .

I can tell a regulator story.I had a 60s model ford falcon,it had a generator.Anyway I was driving thru Big Sur,and under my hood was smoking.Open hood and battery was boiling.With no water anywhere around I added beer till it was full.Then drove on the Oakland.I bought a regulator and that fixed that.The battery would hold charge over night and started to not hold it.But I had a hill to start it.I drove it with drunk battery another month then bought one. --- On Tue, 7/24/12, audiolaw@aol.com <audiolaw@aol.com> wrote:

Oh, I intend to...while I was hunting down that one screw though, the selection was poor (one option, and didn't contain the screw i was looking for) and price seemed high (over $7 for not much), so I passed in the moment. I spend $2.49 on a handful of the screw I did need and 1.99 on 4 micro-stubby screwdrivers (2 philips, 2 slot) and put the "assortment" on my future shopping list.
I'm only 1.5mi from 2 FLAPS, so a roundtrip is hopefully only about 50c in fuel until I find the right option :)
for the record, I was at an O'Reilly, and I think even at PepBoys they have better options for the "cheap bit assortments"

Back in 1989, as the Berlin Wall fell, Gunther Holtorf and his wife Christine set out on what was meant to be an 18-month tour of Africa in their Mercedes Benz G Wagon. Now, with more than 800,000km (500,000 miles) on the clock, Gunther is still going.
The German former airline executive has travelled the equivalent of 20 times around the planet in the vehicle - which he calls Otto. He says he has never had a serious breakdown. Recently in Vietnam, Canadian-born photographer David Lemke joined Gunther on one section of his epic journey.
