This car probably has the giant resister thing(dont know whats its really called) on the firewall for glo plugs. My 190D had one and it always looked suspicious.   Max  P.S. it always worked though

After reading more posts it seems this might be a serendipitous situation.  You might have a clogged fuel line which caused the low power and just then something electrical went bad after all the starting which caused heat somewhere.  I now think it could be a number of things all of which should be checked.  Fuel flow, cables, solenoid.  Solenoid first and the wiring going to it.  Check all fuel filters.  Lawrence Rhodes
