Fred is on to something there, Russ.....I also have an unused trap for
a washer/dryer set up but we never installed the machines...it dried
up and stunk like crazy.
Another thing: those plastic traps under our sinks can be fragile
and if you bang something into one of those, it can develop a very
small crack which will allow gas to escape.
One other possibility: your vent cap on the roof (actually two of
them at least) may have some junk that is not allowing the vent to gas
off and this could cause a terrible stink.
When I first bought my rig new, the trap under the sink in the batch
was cross-threaded and leaked.....I replaced it. The RV factories
are always in a big hurry (esp high-vol mfg.) and they make these kind
of mistakes.
