Re: [diesel_mercedes] Steel vs Alloy lug length

I"ve noted different stud lengths......and also, some of the alloy rims,
have a conical insert, make sure, if yours have them, they are all there.
I found this on my SDL. locked up a rear wheel with too long a stud.
you can look into the backside of the lug hole in the rim, and see if you
can see the seam, or tell if there are inserts. Not sure, about yours, but,
mine have them. I can knock them out with a drift pin and light hammer, they
are splined.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Steel vs Alloy lug length

Do the bundt alloys use longer lugs than steel wheels ?

I am swapping out my front steel rims for some alloys and the studs seem
like they don't have as much engagement.

Any one else run both steel and alloys and notice a difference in how much
the lugs screw in ?

Thanks
