 How did you measure?

I wrote down the gallons I put in & the mileage at the time. 

First fueling; 277090 & 13.24 gallons.  Next fueling 277403 & 8.57 gallons. Subtract you get 313 miles divided by 8.57 gallons comes out to 36.5 mpg. 

Next fueling 277606 & 11.38 gallons. Comes to 203 miles divided by 11.38 comes out to 17.84.
