With AC used the entire tank , 4 Oz. of Startron added , mixed freeway and In Town use , comuting , zooming in the canyons & wee hours in down town L.A. blah , blah blah , my usual driving .
316 miles , 25.0 MPG .
NOTE TO TRISH :
This is my beloved if battered Diesel Sports Coupe with a freshly overhauled turbo charged engine .
Before the overhaul , the # 5 cylinder was badly scored and the piston ruined , it smoked terribly and chugged like a cement mixer at idle .
Then it got 23 MPG's , now after the $5,000.00 + overhaul , it's up to 25 MPG on average , AC , no AC , slow or hard driving , In Town , all desert freeway miles with the Cruise Control holding it rock steady @ 65 MPH ~ the mileage of these W-123 chassis cars remains very constant .
Occasionally my Lady's 4 cylnder 240D Sedan will get up to 32 MPG's when carefuly easing it across the desert @ *exactly* 60 MPH , windows all closed (yes this greatly affects fuel economy) and so on .
Point being , you cannot possibly have gotten 37 MPG's because
' you cannot change the laws of physics Jim ' .
