The problem is the female part that you screw amp on.I wedge wood under the female part,so it would stick up higher when being screwed.
I know this sounds nasty,hehehe

I think you should buy the $54 upgrade, try it out and let us know how it works. :-)
I think I am going to buy his intermittent wiper upgrade. I like gadgets.
