Thanks. It seems I am either overheating and have to stop and cool down or running less than100 and the heater does not work.

Also I can't rove the top of the thermostat housing after removing the bolts.

every benz that I have had has used c for dash temp They should run  at around 80c most of the time. I have seen 105c a few times with high ambient and ac on. At that time the elec fan should be coming on. Today it's 0 f here and it's runing at around 80 c

Diesels like it hot (just like our women) 100 degrees F. is way too cool. Should be running around 180 to 190 F, at least, I would think. Max
