[diesel_mercedes] Re: rear suspension rebuild w126. (and wheel bearings)

Well..

I think (hope) it's done..

Picked it up tonight-- dropped it at a buddy's who's currently an "underemployed" autoworker.. They're re-tooling his plant or the replacement for the Jeep Liberty... He's got "time on his hands.."

For the record, thanks to Tom @Mercedes Classic.. Didn't realize our group got a discount. Dear God with what I spent it made a difference.

I think, this is the "list" of what I bought/had done.

Both front/rear flex discs on the driveshaft.. Likely still OEM..
Rear shock/spring replacement with SDL springs.
Both real wheel bearings replaced.. Mine was trashed, and acutally needed housing replacement.
Parking brake pad replacement..
Control arm bushing replacement..
and Both halfshafts were rebooted with "mercedessource" parts/instructions.

It seems like more was done.. The car obviously "sits" better now.

...he "charged" me $450 in labor..

I handed him $600, and know I still realistically owe him more. He's that good of friend..

..and NO, you CAN'T have his phone number!
