Every few years, the turn signals on my wife's '86 240DL Volvo just stop
working, so I have to remove the plastic panels from around the steering
wheel and spray electronic contact cleaner in the switch and move it
back and forth. It does the trick for a few years. I think it's been a
few years since I did it last, so I'm sure I'll hear something soon. On
our 300Ds/240s the flasher switch controls the turn signals, and it also
usually caused by dirty contacts.

I'm still enjoying my repaired driver's seat.
