That was the deal ;
I saved it from the crusher , rebuilt it to do *one* Interstate job (which it did admirably) , putting over $3,700.00 worth of Jobber priced parts into it so I really didn't want to scrap it .
Happily , after all was said & done (it got sold , impounded & I was too foolish/cautious to spring it from the Car Jail) , my son just saw it happiy driving around the next Town East of me , current tags on it and all shiny with a smiling driver so someone got one hell of a good deal , I wonder if they even know .
Depending on how much parts are still on it , Trish *might* be able to sell some parts off it ? .

If you go that way, remove the cam/valve cover, the bottom engine cover (or "oil pan"), and anything else that's pure aluminum, and have them weighed separately: Aluminum is worth MUCH more than iron/steel/mixed metals.
