Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : Veggie Oil DEATH Turbo Diesel Sports Coupe

BK, you are right.  There is little doubt that Cummins will be able to take the miles that my Benz diesel does, but time will tell.  Sorry I missed that!
Do you know, are the VW diesels made in USA?

Boyd,

"Best of all, they are not union!!!"???

   (snip)

Even with all those evil unionized designers and plant workers, as you say, Mercedes makes an engine you can afford, and no union busting U.S. plant, that has to guarantee fat paychecks and perks for management, can build such engines in a way that we in the middle class can afford them. IMHO, it seems likely that the B6 Cummins is the quality equal of the Merc diesel, and I know a lot of folks other than myself who can afford them. Of course, the Dodge pickup they come in is a regrettable POS, but the engine is a sweet bit of work..I have no idea what the union status of Cummins is...bk

Sorry Bobby, I don't know where you are from, but I am from the USA.  I deal, and trust, our engineers and manufacturers first.  I get super service, help and advice from greasecar in Mass!  Best of all, they are not union!!! Only, after I have exhausted all options in the USA, will I go to another country for new purchases.  Now, you might say, why then a Mercedes?  I don't know of an American made engine, that I can afford, that is like like my Mercedes.
