When my wife and I met in 1970, we each had identical 1968 white VW Beetles. Then as the kids came along (6) we went from a VW station wagon to a Dodge Maxi Van. It is only proper that we close out with identical (almost) 1983 w123 300d's. Yesterday they were parked together and I went to get something from "my" car, only to discover I could not find it because I was digging around in "her" car. Just have to remember that I have 2 hats in the rear window and she only has 1 hat, and I drip motor oil, but she drips transmission fluid.

Perhaps you could take a page from Brian in LaVerne's playbook: "Look what I bought cha, honey. Now, we EACH have a classic Mercedes diesel!" Worth a shot, anyway....
(Best story yet is Nate in LA's, wherein SHE introduced HIM to Mercedes diesels. Formerly "VWNate", he now has no VW's, and between the two of them, they now have, what.., four or five Mercedes diesels...? That's just awesome!)

It probably has crank windows, especially if it was Canadian-market. Definitely naturally-aspirated. Even the W123-based 300D didn't get the turbo till sometime mid-'81ish.

Dunno what he is asking, but it has sat in a field for a while. Any advice would be welcome.
