Nice to hear things are working out.
Like Nate said, start w/ a basic set of tools and build up as needed.
I too, started w/ a craftsman set many years ago.
It's weird about the lights staying on. Not on my MB, but on other cars
I've seen wires melted together making all kinds of lights et al, work
in strange ways, come on when they're not supposed to etc.
