I read about the DIY odometer fix many here have done , took my speedo ever so carefully apart over a clean white towel , got about 2/3 into it and stopped , cleaned everything *hospital* clean & buttoned it back up , I could then see everything just fine so I paid a speedo guy $150 to fix the odometer , it's still working fine years later .
I forget who sells those tiny plastic gears , maybe Nate R.knows , I don't see how your could hurt it much by trying .
The oil pressure gauge *must* be on zero with the key on and engine not started , if not , it's prolly a bad ground in the cluster , might be the signal wire from the oil pressure switch is grounded by a bare spot but since the cluster has been fooled with by the DPO , I'd chase bad grounds there first .
