Re: [diesel_mercedes] Can a girl drive a 300cd turbo coupe with a terrible vacuum leak?

I have NEVER had any problem shutting down the engine with the "stop" valve under the hood. I even trained my 65 year old wife how to do it.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Can a girl drive a 300cd turbo coupe with a terrible vacuum leak?

My latest plan to get my coupe from NC to Houston is to have a girl drive it.

The primary problem with the car is the girl and the cars inability to shut off after the key is turned. My indirect understanding is that even opening the hood and pushing the shut off linkage still will not shut down the engine.

Any suggestions from you guys about disconnecting all of the vacuum system and then only connect what is necessary to shut the engine down.

I do think the girl can shift the automatic manually if the transmission vacuum needs to be disconnected as well.

I'll understand if this is not possible due to the unknowns of having a female driver and a terrible vacuum leak.

By the way....auto transportation providers are a total rip off.
