All of the suggested modifications should be fun and will undoubtedly provide a faster car and possibly better fuel economy although after a certain point where you have improved the efficiency as much as possible, any more power will cost more fuel. One caveat that I had pounded into my head by experience early on is "Don't screw with the daily driver". If you need it every day, keep it stock and well maintained. If you want to play, get another car.
