Hi Jim,
That is probably true. It is pleasing to see a company stand behind their product stepping up to the plate to correct the situation. I took one apart. I expected to see some sort of impeller. The application and arrangement of a series of round rubber disks used to pump the water was very interesting to me. IMO the acid test for any product is to turn it loose on the market, sit back, and wait for failures that would not generally show up in the testing applications in their labs. Any way, I have the old designpump that is rebuilt, and a new design pump. So, I should be covered for several years. Chuck B

It sounds to me that Shurflo made a mistake in the design of the pump and
did not allow for the pressure that has always been there. I'm sure
someone(s) at Shurflo had and "interesting" discussion with their boss(es).
