[Diesel-RVs] LED lights on dash

I want to install some LED lights on the dash to tell me when something
is on.
On our last moho an Allegro Bus I installed one for the spot light and
PAC brake.There was an article I read some where that said what light
and what resister to buy at radio shack,I can't find that article
anymore.
So does anyone know what to buy?
