[diesel_mercedes] Front center armrest

Hey folks,

I went out to a junkyard near me today to look at a newly arrived 1981
240D. I saw several parts I could use. One thing I could have taken
right away was the center front armrest, which is the wrong color, but
has an intact plastic hole cover. But I had to pause because the one on
this car has a squarish cover with curved ends. I see many others that
have perfectly round covers. Is there some kind of rhyme or reason to
the two types? Years, or models?

If anyone near Wisconsin has needs, it is a maroon painted deep blue 4
door with no sunroof, manual windows, rear speaker option, auto air,
cruise control and automatic trans. Interior is dark blue. Body is
rather straight and not too bad. Doors are savable. Rust seems to be
located below. Driven in, very good tires.

I am going to claim the tires, windshield, cruise control parts and
center arm rest is you info proves positive.
