Yes, I used to hit up the garage sales and flea markets / swap meets, scored a near pristine CB400F for my Son decades ago but these days not so much .
I too used to buy in the Fall and sell in the Spring when the weather was good and folks had their tax return burning a hole in their pocket.....
Winter is the slow season for Auto repair shops so I'd keep busy (and warm !) by rebuilding cast off old VW Beetles (mostly) and always had a bunch for sale come March......
