No way around it ,if you're going to maintain it your ownself , you need to buy some tools .
Me , I use cheap antique tools I bought at yard sales decades ago but the $5 Harbor Freight analog (means needle gauge not digital) works just fine , you'll be wanting to extend the test leads , if you're broke ass poor grab the zip cord off a junked TV set or lamp....
