I thought I needed a heater core but not at all. There is a mono valve that closes the coolant to the core when not in use. The cores seldom fail as a result. I replaced the mono valve and BINGO...no more leak and now have heat. So if you need a core let me know. I bought it and not it sits on the shelf. 87 300SD
