I grew up in the the OC(Orange County), left for good the day I graduated high school, never been back. But now I want to bring my girlfriend to some "fringe" places" like Anza Borego, Death Valley, the desert around Giant Rock, Plam Springs, Idelwild, ect, ect. And of course Redwood groves in N. Cali., they are like going to church. I'm glad you guys like it down there, me, I'll pass tru and say Hi. Yesterday right before my 4-wheeler threw me on a 40 degree hill, ( I had to leave it and crawl home), I was changing the air filter on my 240. I could not help but notice a fucking mouse(one of the many hazards of country living) had nested in the air cleaner, and chewed and crapped and pissed, and generally made a mess. So of course I have a spare on the shelve, but it is so messy I wanted to take off the canister(housing) and wash it out. Three 10mm nuts on studs, first two twist off fine, third, I could tell by 40 years of experience it is gonna snap. I probably already went too far, but screwed it back in place, did not snap. What should I do? What can be done if it breaks? I can tell its gonna break if I try and unscrew the nut. I opted to clean out the air filter housing in place, but then went for the ill fated 4-wheeler ride, crashed, had to crawl home, lay on the couch till today. Car will wait, cant drive it anyway now, just getting it ready for spring. I probably should live in Temucala or some warm place like that, maybe a avocado ranch in Escondido, Max

You are complaining , about rain?, In California? I know, by reading its been raining lately, big storms, storms of the decade even. But Cali is still in a long term drought, needs tons more of rain. Have you seen Lake Shasta lately? I have. Looks very low, in fact lower than I've ever seen it, maybe its lower than its ever been since they built it. Why dont you just come up here and use my shop? Also this is dry country but still green . While you are here you could rebuild all my old China Diesels just for fun .MaxOn Mon, Dec 15, 2014 at 1:40 PM, vwnate1@yahoo.com [diesel_mercedes] <diesel_mercedes@yahoogroups.com> wrote:
Yep ;
It's been soaking rains off and on a few weeks now , pi$$es me off sorely as I'm trying to overhaul an old i6 truck engine in my back yard ~ I don't have any cover to work under so as soon as I feel the *first* drop , I have to hustle and cover up the open engine(s) before anything gets wet .
It's supposed to begin raining again to - night so I washed & RAIN-X'ed the windshield on my Met and will try to get one more engine bolted up and lifted off the ground onto a engine stand right after Work to - day .
Then I'll be able to easier yank the crankshaft out , I'm using it in a newer , better block .
O'Reilly had the Diesel Kleen in silver and white bottles .
