Yes , cobble up some thick plastic or sheet metal to block the opening , you need good air flow for proper cooling .
I didn't realize you were near Tehachipi , I like it up there an old Buddy of mine lives there now .
Be sure to take the old road past the loop , it's a nice drive even if you don't like rail fanning .
