You'd still get hot air , the defroster is supposed to run the AC compressor at the same time because it dehumidifies the air , making the defroster more efficient .
If the compressor still has any charge ,when the pump is running you should feel the outlet pipe getting cold .
Google ' Klima I ' or maybe ' Air Temp II ' to see how to test the evil servo , in a nutshell when you drive it to one extreme or the other , the motor inside it *MUST* run smoothly and stop with an audible " THUNK " ~ if it slows down and stops , it'll fry the amplifier behind the glove box .
The very first thing to do is test and repair that damn servo then and only then can you begin the long arduous march to - wards working HVAC .
I wrote many detailed posts on the testing and repairs of this wretched HVAC system , good luck with it as I'd rather drive a Chevette than fool with KLIMA I ever again .
