It was not veggie oil that did in your expensive engine. It was blend - mixing wvo with diesel. People are theorizing that using a blend with dino Diesel causes a wax to build up in the fuel system.

Using 50% wvo, unheated, may have caused inadequate vaporization which lead to coking affecting the injector nozzle, the rings, and/or other components.

I do not think it was the veggie oil that caused piston one to stop (boy you shoulda seen the mess, cylinder liner in pieces, con rod pretselled,etc) but much as I cannot afford the $500 fill up on Dino D, I cannot take a chance on a $12,000 eng rebuild.
