Well ;
It must be summertime again as I got in my faithful Diesel Sports Coupe this morning @ 0-Dark:30 , outside it was nice so naturally the heater stuck full on no matter what button I pushed , wheels turned etc. so in time I gave up and opened the window....
The AC compressors should interchange yes but , if the bracketry is different , you'll need a different # belt ~ why not begin looking closely at underhood pictures of various other Mercedes Diesels until you find one that's *exactly* like yours and ask the owner what the V-Belt P/N is ? . FWIW , I too hate getting a bunch of new V-Belts that don't fit anything in my fleet but it happens sometimes .
Sometimes , an outlying or rural FLAPS will allow you to run in and out repeatedly trying on different V-Belts , obviously you'll need to shampoo the engine first as once it's oily , that belt can't go back on the rack for sale again...
So much of old Vehicle maintenance and repair , is just forcing oneself to s l o w d o w n & take however much time is necessary to sort out to - day's PIA adventure .

No the belt we have is from my original motor, it's too short. The a/c is also from the other motor, but should be fine from what I've researched.
