Re: [diesel_mercedes] Why Do Our Mercedes Diesels Create Bucket List for Us?

Right on!  I drove old/used cars for years. In 1995 I bought my first brand new car. I saved for the down payment for well over a year.  I bought a red T-Bird with 40th Anniversary on the bottom. My payments were $415 a month plus full coverage insurance.  A few months later some ding dong ran a red light and caused $6400 worth of damage.  Months later I gave up on ever getting my car fixed properly, went online & special ordered a '97 T-Bird, this one black.  I traded in the '95 sight unseen and felt sorry for the next owner as the car trailed sideways!  My payments had dropped to just below $400/month plus full coverage insurance.  Loved that car, with the V-8, but it had it's quirks.  The '95 always had messed up brakes due to bad rotors, even after being replaced there was always a shimmy.  The black one had something else wrong from day one that I can't recall, but eventually got used to.

So I'd much rather have a bucket list and a really cool, classy car that'll outlast anything else...so long as I make sure there's no hole in the oil pan!  :)  Think about how many MB's I could have purchased with the money I spent on those 2 cars!  Or how things I could have fixed on one!  Yikes.
