'Depends on the price of the parts car and what parts you're likely to need. There's little in the way of engine and transmission parts an early W123 300D and a post '81 share. But, body parts, glass, suspension, interior bits.., yeah, could be worth it.

Have been offered a '77 300D for parts, it is a non turbo. Is it worth getting for the parts, it is about 100 miles away from home, and the steering column was removed but otherwise the car is intact. Would love to have a parts car ( the one with the bear damage did not work out)
