I am thinking air in the fuel system or vacuum issue. how long has this been occurring?

My 1982 300SD runs great but has suddenly started to stall at idle. The idle is around 750. The engine just stalls. I turn the key it starts up and runs fine. I have replaced all of the filters including the tank screen. thanks for your help. bob
