First things first ~ .
Check the Monovalve as it's dead about 75 % of the time , an easy fix .
Does the compressor cycle on ? (look at it , when idling , the whole front part should be spinning) if it's spinning , carefully touch the metal AC pipe across the front of the engine , if it's cool , the Freon charge is O.K. .
How you fix the AC has much to do with how well it works later - example : if the center outlets don't blow gales of air , it'll never really cool the interior well so have an indie shop (unless you're rich)fix those first .
