autohausaz.com shows belt width of 13 for my 240D
maybe previous owner installed wrong belt
looks like 13X1000 is for auto trans
13X1030 for manual
a wider belt may have to be a bit longer as it may sit higher in the pulleys and thus have a longer circumference.
i'm going to have an extra 55 amp working alternator in a few days if anyone needs one
