[diesel_mercedes] Re: 240D parking brake light switch?

Uhhh, parking brake? No, I don't think so. I have a 1980 240D also. If it is supposed to have this function I dont know about it. As far as I know the brake light comes on when your front pads wear thin and maybe if low on fluid. P.S. My 1980 240 has been parked since November, I am getting ready to put a battery in it and get it going so I can make sure its ready for a run to California in April.Max

I replaced the bulb with a known good one but it still doesn't work. I did have the key in the 'on' position. Next step is the brake switch. I looked under the dash near the pedal and didn't see anything that looked like proper switch. There's no mention of it in my Hanyes manual and I couldn't find anything on this group and through internet searches. The light DOES turn on when the p-brake is applied with this car, right?
