[diesel_mercedes] 240D parking brake light switch?

 

I have a 1980 240D. My parking brake light hasn't worked since I got it about 4 yrs ago. Well, after burning out a set of parking brake shoes, I really want to get that light working. I replaced the bulb with a known good one but it still doesn't work. I did have the key in the 'on' position. Next step is the brake switch. I looked under the dash near the pedal and didn't see anything that looked like proper switch. There's no mention of it in my Hanyes manual and I couldn't find anything on this group and through internet searches. The light DOES turn on when the p-brake is applied with this car, right?
