A complete R&R plus rebuild by a qualified knowledgeable person is about 1800 here. In the dealership, the swap for a rebuilt Mercedes trans is 5000. I plan to keep my car so when the trans went after 270,000 I opeted for a rebuild, since I had never done one. If it had been the engine, I would have done it, but I have no experience on transmissions so that's my nest thing to learn.
