Oh yes indeed Al ~ I once told my Civil Service boos "! f*ck you !" ~ that was a mistake of course, his reaction was to give me 'freeway therapy' by transferring me out to Hyperion sewage treatment plant in El Segundo ("where the turds meet the ocean !") for two weeks, because I worked in shit since I was a child the smell didn't bother me much, I didn't have to touch anything nasty (luckily) and the effluent was used to grow the most amazing vines all around the inside of the warehouse .

Try working in a sewage treatment plant. I was only selling the equipment, but had to get involved to solve problems. One particularly memorable situation was the interior of a pumping station where a sewage sludge pump had been running all night with a cracked case. The procedure was to start the pump to fill a barge and then go home. The following morning was a revelation!

This is so Alan but, most jobs do not require you do work in grease, oil and general filth with machines that can and will kill or maim you if they get a chance and the cancer causing chemicals will also beat you up badly even if you don't ever get the big c .I'm a Yankee so thrift comes naturally to me .I was born to be a Mechanic, I began touching things to see how they worked whilst still in diapers .Not a life I'd recommend to anyone in spite of how much I love it .-NateAlan wrote :Unless you choose playing Russian roulette as part of a floor show, most forms of employment are doing the same old thing day in and day out.
